Hi, I'm Jenn Turner, born way back in 1967 in Margate. I have always enjoyed painting and drawing but never really tried photography other than dabbling with film cameras when I was younger, taking photos of family and friends. The bug hit me when I bought a Canon 350D, lens and some accessories from a friend of Jon's - £300 and it could have been an expensive purchase, but fortunately I fell in love with photography and nearly 7 years on I haven't looked back. I have tried various makes of camera went from a Canon 60D to a Fuji XE-1 and then back again! I wanted something flexible, allowing me to photograph a variety of subjects from wildlife/sport to landscape, portrait and street. My main camera is now my Canon 6D which I love. I have a collection of medium format and 35mm film cameras and recently bought Jon and me an infrared converted camera each so we can get out and experiment.
I was born in 1972 and grew up in Margate, Kent. I have had numerous work positions over the years from glass etching through bowling alley mechanic, surface mount electronics engineer and so on... Having always dabbled in photography on point and shoots and bridge cameras, I finally took the step up to DSLR in 2010 when Jenn made her first purchase. Going through numerous cameras from then on, these have included a few Canons, Olympus, Lubitel and my Bronica Etr-si. My preferred area of photography is definitely Landscape and quite often it is very minimalist. I do like to dabble with other genres including urban, architecture and sports. My photography claim to fame so far is the cover photo used on the Italian novel La cappella dei penitenti grigi. I would love to be able to do photography as a full time job, dreams do sometimes come true.
